FISHING ON THIS RIVER IS CONTROLLED BY THE DODDER ANGLERS CLUB AND RIPARIAN OWNERS. well this is the 28 june nothing but rain non stop the dooder is i in flood,
Ii think that i have a lot of the poaching stopped because i came down hard on any poacher this year and i wont take any messing from them and it has so far worked, last night thou i did remove 3 poacher from the lake,as you all know by now that the gates are electric now and only members are allowed bring there cars on to the lakes, sadly all cars must be of the lakes at 8.30 pm,but we are working with the dublin city manger to see can we keep our cars there up tp 9pm.the fishing year got of to a bad start for the nolan cup due to very bad weather, but we held it the next sunday and there was a great turn out of anglers on the day a also there was a good catch of fish on the day, well on the same note the o connor and the miami cup was also cancelled due to the high waters, but more for safety sake its sad to say that june was worse than march but thats Ireland for you,now on another note i must say that wadeing is forbidden,on the lakes, can all anglers please abide by this ruleing as i dont wish to fall out with any member of the club over this ruleing,i shall stop at this point and head back up the lakes, tony.
well i am back again, still more rain i dont find that a bit odd,i see that the dam on the lower lake that was repaired is now sinking well i told them so but would they listen no,they dont want to know, well thats there problem or is it? a well fishing is very hard on the lower lake with the level of water been kept so high one can only cast from the dam wall, but saying that there are fish been caught, they are hard to catch but keep trying and you will catch your dinner,my self and paddy o toole have had good fun with the rainbows, saying that paddys son for got his name landed 20 lovely wild brownies on the upper lake all keepers i must say, thankfuly paddys lad never keeps a fish.
hi to all well this is sunday 22nd july, yes its still raining sure we are used to now,any how the week was good for fishing,as my self and paddy o toole had a very good days and eveing fishing getting the bag take note stick to your bag two fish only on any one day, that does not mean that you can go out the gate with two fish and come back in again.and fish for more like i have met a couple of muppets who taught that they could get away with that idea, well i soon put them in there place, and i have to say that the poaching is at near ZERO.well lets hope i can keep it that way,the water is so high that we are fishing of the car park wall, and landing nice fish as well, maybe with the water so high fishing will be very good for next season because alot of the anglers wont fish of the wall or dam so if the fish winter well they will be a good size for next year, have any of you anglers had a look at the pictures that i took,go to my galery,if yous have any pictures or commets to add on this site please do so,and if you are on able to get them on please get in touch with me and we will add them,i must say that i have noticed a lot of lads that were spinning over the years have now takeing up fly fishing thats nice to see them where once they were young lads are now grown up and i have to say they are fine anglers, also poachers have takeing up fly fishing so i must be doing someting right, well thats it have to go my ferrets 22 of them and my dogs 4 of them have to be fed, take care tony,
sunday the 30th september
well hows all,its sad to say that the season has once again come to an end,but time dose fly,how ever we had a lot of rain we did still have a lot of fishing, we dont let a sup of water stop us,i would like to say a big thank you to all the anglers that i met on and of the lakes and river,we all told our storys of the big ones that got away,i think that its them old yarns that keep us goin, well theres no harm it now is there,ha ha,by god was there a lot of anglers on the bohernabreena lakes this year, there was many a dayand eveing that .there was barely standing room, along the dam wall, the water did drop down for a couple of weeks and the lads were able to get over the far side of the lake for some nice trouth and belive me there were nice fish caught,i have takeing not of the amount of anglers that put fish back, fair play lads,i hope next year please god that we are alive and well we will meet again, for more laughs and with a bit of luck the lake might be kept down for us,god when i think of all they rain that we had it was like a monsoon at times but we stuck with it,now lads just because the season is over dose not mean that yous cant come up for a walk and a good old chatter, wellcome back to one and all, well the new season got of to a good start with a great turn out for the nolan cup, winner was ian doyle 26 members entered 19 caught the bag limit, well the rain is still with us no change there,we stocked the dodder for paddys day with some fine brownies so tight lines on the 17th lads try put back one or two fish if yous can,and any problems please get in touch with me. well im off now sunday the 16t cold damp day but what the hell i will get the rod on to the lakes and see if i can get me dinner, well its getting near ther agm,so you all know what that means, its getting closer to fishing again dose time fly, well the frost hit us very early this year,or last year, and the water was very low on the lakes so that means the trouth would have gone deeper, and they would not have wintered well but we will see, on sunday the 1st hope we get the turn out we got last year,
well hope yous all are well,i had a bad year my self with a stanly knife in my gut,at firhouse and a sisscers on the lake ,spent xmas week in pemount with me lungs, then bernie spent 3 week in tallaght hosptile, her liver is all over the place and she dont even drink, now the corpo, cleaned a few spots to let anglers cast a bit easer, and there talking about the lakes because of the swimmers.well i myself only got to the dinner dance at 12oc that night, but all had a good time it was a great nite that i missed, well there was some nice fish caught last six pounders,i caught some my self and so did the lads, well i hope to see you all on the first lads and lassies take care TONY Well its here again and what a turnout for the nolan cup this time 51 entered gerry heslip was the winner.all had a great day even thou some never got a fish, but the wether is still cold,so theres plenty of time to get fish,we stocked the dodder last thusrday,750 brownies went in for paddys day so lets hope the kids have a good opening day, well must go again, see ya for now ,
well we are well into the new season hope yous are all haveing fun,its now the 22nd of may ,there was a great clean up on the dodder i was not there my self thou as my wife is still unwell, god have we a big fishing club just huge indeed, there is not a club that can come near us as with the count we had last year 961members wow,it shows how word of mouth starts a trend, well with no work out there lads a picking up fishing rods packed lunch and away with for a days fishing,if not on the dodder then else where, but its the only way to stop you crackin up.
